Sheryl Elias is an attorney, licensed in Connecticut and New York. She spent a decade practicing in New York City, specializing in insurance coverage, insurance regulation and appellate law. Sheryl now works in alternative dispute resolution (mediation and arbitration) in New York and New Jersey, focusing on civil disputes, as well as attorney fee and FINRA arbitrations.
Over the years, Sheryl has dedicated a significant amount of time to community service, sitting on the boards of a school, a synagogue, am 800-member youth baseball league and an international national organization that assists at risk children. While serving on these boards Sheryl has taken as interest in board governance, working with committees to update the by-laws for non-profit organizations. Sheryl currently sits on the boards of Hillel at University of Chicago and Hillel at Stanford University. She has also been involved in elections Teaneck, NJ, serving as campaign manager for three successful Board of Education candidates.
Sheryl has experience in construction and renovation, overseeing five major residential renovations in the last two decades. Sheryl has a degree in Communications from Boston University – she worked as a journalist for daily and weekly newspapers before starting her career as a lawyer – and a JD from the University of Connecticut in Hartford.
