Steve Shapiro had a forty-year career in higher education at both the junior and senior college levels, where he has served as Department Chair and Professor of Management and Marketing. He also worked as a human resource management consultant, heading a corporate training and development center and developing industry-education partnerships designed to provide meaningful employment opportunities to students and adult job seekers. He currently works part-time for the JCC in Manhattan, helping young adults on the autism spectrum transition from internships to paid positions in the NYC metropolitan area.
Mr. Shapiro received a B.B.A and M.B.A from Adelphi University in Long Island and earned his doctorate in vocational education at Temple University.
He has been on the Imperial House Board for the past four years, serving as Vice President since 2010. He also serves on the Board of his Manhattan Co-op, where he lives with his wife Charlene. Mr. Shapiro has three children and four grandchildren, all of whom enjoy their time “at the beach” and look forward to the summer season.
